耳鳴 Tinnitus : 내면에서 거꾸로 들려오거나 일상의 소음을 뚫고 들려오는 기이한 주파수

내가 잘 알고 있다고 믿었던 대상이 문득 낯설게 느껴지거나, 몰랐던 존재가 눈앞에 불쑥 나타날 때가 있다. 이 전시는 두려움과 익숙함, 현실과 환상처럼 서로 반대되는 감각들이 뒤섞이고 뒤집히는 순간을 다룬다.

공포와 익숙함, 긍정과 부정, 내면과 외면, 현세와 이세계. 이 전시는 이 대립하는 감각들이 어느 한쪽으로도 완전히 기울지 않은 채, 낯익음과 낯섦이 동시에 존재하는 그 애매한 경계를 드러낸다. 거창한 환상과 평범한 일상의 경계가 무너지는 낯선 틈새와 공간을 기획한다.

“Alias” refers to an obscure identity that has shed its original name to be called by another, while “Tinnitus” signifies an intimate, internal sound audible only to myself.

There are moments when what I believed I knew well suddenly confronts me with an alien face, or when an unknown presence abruptly enters my field of vision. My work revolves around moments of encounter where opposing sensations—fear and familiarity, the tangible and the fantastical, positive and negative, the mundane and the otherworldly—intersect, hybridize, and are ultimately subverted.

Refusing to settle on either pole, I delve into the transient, in-between threshold where these conflicting perceptions coexist. Through this exhibition, I bring to life strange crevices and uncanny spaces where the rigid boundary between grand mythologies and ordinary reality completely collapses.
